A chairlift is one way to see the French Alps. But another, more exhilarating method is to fly into Courchevel Airport. From above, passengers can gaze upon a magnificent view of the region’s snow-dusted peaks and experience a thrilling landing on the airport’s uphill runway, pitched at a gradient of 18.5 percent.
库尔舍维勒机场位于法国阿尔卑斯山，跑道只有约1,762英尺（537米）长，但跑道中段部位有个山丘，飞机需要上坡降落（aircraft landing uphill），然后下坡起飞（taking off downhill）以减少滑行距离（reduce taxiing distance）。且由于该机场的地形，飞机无法执行复飞。（There is no go-around procedure for landings at this airport, due to the surrounding mountainous terrain. ）飞行员想在此跑道降落需获得证明认可。
