Flight Returns Due to "Forget to Remove Landing Gear Safety Pin"
Recently, a flight operated by Air China garnered attention due to an issue with its landing gear, leading to an unexpected return to the airport. On January 23rd, reporters from Southern Metropolis Daily learned from Air China that the airline has issued an apology, citing the incident as a result of staff negligence in removing the safety pin from the front landing gear.
On January 22nd, a blogger reported that an Air China flight had to return to Beijing shortly after takeoff because the landing gear could not be retracted. Upon landing, it was discovered that the safety pin for the landing gear had not been removed.
This incident quickly captured public attention. On January 23rd, Air China responded via their official Weibo account. They stated that flight CA1825, scheduled from Beijing to Changzhou on January 22nd, had to return due to a staff oversight where the safety pin on the front landing gear was not removed. This prevented the normal retraction of the front landing gear, and the crew followed protocol to return the aircraft.
"We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passengers' travel plans and are conducting a thorough review and reflection. We have immediately initiated corrective measures in the relevant areas and are taking serious responsibility. We are grateful for the supervision and support of our passengers," the airline stated.
