The best classroom is on the road. Every year, at Jinan Thomas International School (JTIS), students are engaged in various field trips to help them understand, learn, and apply what they have learned in the classroom.



最好的课堂在路上。每年，济南市托马斯外籍人员子女学校（JTIS），都会通过各种研学活动，让学生在旅行中感悟、学习、学以致用。



Recently, students immersed themselves in nature to gain a deeper understanding of their current unit teaching themes.



最近，外籍学生走进大自然，深度体验、理解了这学期的单元教学主题。

G1-2 An Adventure with the animals

一二年级：和动物们的一场奇幻之旅

The destination for first and second graders was the Oulebao Zoo.



一二年级学生来到欧乐堡动物园。



The children rode in tour buses, observing large animals such as camels, elephants, and hippos along the way. The majestic tiger captured all their attention.



他们乘坐游览车，沿途观看了骆驼、大象、河马等大型动物，还体验了一把喂养老虎的乐趣。



In the giant panda pavilion, the children met the twin brothers “Chengduo” and “Chengshuang”and learned that the pandas here eat fresh bamboo airlifted from Sichuan every day!



在大熊猫馆，学生认识了双胞胎兄弟“成对”和“成双”，知道了熊猫每天吃的，都是从四川空运过来的新鲜竹子。

The charming giraffes tentatively stretched their necks, wanting to give the children a deep kiss, as if saying, “Come and bask in the sun with me”.









在长颈鹿庄园，长颈鹿伸长脖子，和大家亲昵耳语。



When the children explored the Asian forest area, they witnessed elephants swinging their long trunks, monkeys playing tricks on each other, and learned a lot about animals.



在亚洲森林区，他们看到大象摇动长长的鼻子，猴子们调皮捉弄彼此的场景，大家学到了许多有关动物的知识。

G3-4 Dive into the Magical World of Aircrafts

三四年级：体验“冲上云霄”的一天



The third and fourth graders arrived at Shanghe Airport as scheduled, like little explorers, they entered the magical world of the airport.



三四年级学生抵达商河机场，他们像小探险家一样，走进机场这个神奇的世界。



While learning about pilots, flight attendants, and air traffic controllers’ skills, students also played some interesting interactive games, experiencing the charm of flying!





他们学习了飞行员、机务员和航空管制员的技能，还玩了一些有趣的互动小游戏。



In the afternoon, students immersed themselves in DIY workshops! They picked up tools, made their own flying machines, and felt the joy of creating!



下午，在DIY手工课程中，他们动手制作了飞行工具，感受创造的乐趣。



They also visited the aviation museum! Listening to the guide’s explanation, seeing various kinds of airplanes, they learned the stories and uses of these machines. Then, they boarded the planes together, exploring more secrets about those giant flying machines!



大家还参观了飞机博物馆，看到了各种各样的飞机，了解了它们的故事和用途，登上飞机探秘。



At the closing ceremony, everyone received special certificates, recording a day of adventure!

结营仪式上，大家收获了特别的证书，记录这一天的冒险旅程。

G5-6 All Milky and Cheesy!

五六年级：体验农场工作的乐趣





Fifth and sixth graders went to a well-known farm in Tai’an for their field trip.



五六年级学生来到泰安知名农场。



After arriving at the destination, students first learned about milk in the “Milk Classroom” and then, after putting on protective gear, entered the milk production line for observation. In these activities, students experienced the joy of work and personally tried feeding and milking the cows.





他们在“牛奶课堂”学习了关于牛奶的知识，还观察了牛奶制作流水线。大家体会到农场工作的乐趣，还尝试了喂养奶牛和挤牛奶。





Students then used the harvested milk to make cheese sticks and milk soap. After lunch, they took up the role as farmers and interacted closely with the animals.



学生们还用挤的牛奶，制作了奶酪棒和牛奶皂。最后，他们化身农场主，和小动物们亲密互动。



Through their field trips, JTIS students stepped out of the classroom, immersed themselves in nature, got close to animals, and learned valuable knowledge. “Through their field trips, students not only learn more but also experience the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature,” said Mr. Viscardi, the principal of JTIS.





在JTIS这次研学中，学生走出课堂，走进自然，亲近动物，学习知识。“研学中，学生们不但学到了很多，也体验到人和自然的共生关系。”本次研学活动负责人JTIS执行校长Mr.Viscardi说。
