First of all, no pilots follow this shit from boeing, cos it defitely costs much more on maintenance. The sensity of spoilers is not as bad as we think. Secondly, combination with lower G-fore, smooth landings can satisfy passengers and good to company reputation. Thirdly, firm landing is preferable to a soft touchdown only on condition that the runway is short, wet or snow-covered, or if it’s very windy, according to Patrick Smith, a US pilot and author of Cockpit Confidential. A soft touch down is not always the criterion for a safe landing, but a butter landing brings much benefit in most circumstances. Last but not least, u do not have to agree with me, but i always aiming to a soft touch down, cos it is a flight sim and those low landing rates satisfy me a lot. |
